Hanhart men's watches: built to measure, not to show
There are watches that are beautiful, and there are watches that had a job. Hanhart builds the second kind. The house came to the wristwatch by way of the stopwatch, and that origin sits in every detail: in the crown large enough for gloves, in the two rather than three subdials that keep the face readable, in the bezel you find without looking.
Why these watches are flatter than you expect
Most chronographs in this price class run on automatic movements. For its historical lines Hanhart uses hand winding, and that has a consequence you feel on the wrist: without a rotor the movement builds lower. The 417 ES measures only 11.55 mm above the dial, and just over thirteen with the domed crystal. For a mechanical chronograph that is remarkably little. Add short, downturned lugs, and even the 42 mm version sits on a narrow wrist. If you can spare thirty seconds in the morning for winding, you get a watch you notice when you put it on rather than when you button your cuff.
How you recognise a Hanhart
Three features repeat across all the lines. The bi-compax dial layout with small seconds and minute counter. The fluted bezel, bidirectional and steplessly turning, with a red marker as an aide-memoire. And the red reset pusher the house has fitted since 1939.
What you get from us
Every Hanhart with two years of manufacturer warranty. We shorten leather straps and steel bracelets to your wrist measurement before dispatch if you give it to us with the order. Service and overhaul are handled by our own workshop in Solingen, so the watch does not have to travel across the country.
