Labradorite – The Stone of Color Play
Labradorite captivates with its lively play of colors. Depending on the angle and light, it displays a stunning array of colors, intensified by microscopic inclusions of minerals like titanite and magnesite—a characteristic phenomenon known as "labradorescence." This blue-green shimmering gemstone belongs to the feldspar family and was discovered in the 18th century on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. Other significant deposits can be found in Finland, Australia, the USA, and Madagascar. The labradorite used by Bernd Wolf comes from Zambia and stands out for its exceptional quality.
With its iridescent color play, labradorite adapts flexibly to clothing colors, making it suitable for a variety of occasions. Its subtle pearly sheen gives it a special elegance that draws attention. After its discovery, labradorite was used not only as a gemstone but also as a reflective stone in opulent buildings. Due to its striking color display, it quickly gained popularity. Labradorite was considered a precious stone and was incorporated into various decorative objects. It is believed to enhance imagination and creativity, strengthen intuition, and improve memory. Additionally, it is said to have a soothing effect on joint pain.
