This version strikes a darker note. A blue grey dial meets a black leather strap with an embossed texture, modelled on the materials of historic car interiors from the seats to the dashboard.
Beneath the domed sapphire crystal works the same 6R55 calibre as in the steel bracelet version. The leather strap makes the watch feel a touch lighter on the wrist despite 20 bar water resistance and a hard coated case.

What colour exactly is the dial?
Seiko calls it blue grey. Depending on the light it reads more anthracite or more bluish, but it is not a pure black.
Where does the texture in the leather strap come from?
The embossing is modelled on surfaces of historic car interiors, from the seat covers to the dashboard.
Can I take the leather strap into water?
The watch is sealed to 20 bar, but the leather does not tolerate being wet repeatedly. For regular swimming we recommend the HBC003J1 on the steel bracelet.
How accurate is the 6R55 calibre?
Seiko states minus 15 to plus 25 seconds per day at rest. That is the usual range for a mechanical movement of this class.
