The Seiko Prospex SNE597P1 shows the classic diver's shape in continuous black. The stainless steel case measures 41 mm across and 11.3 mm high, and the unidirectional bezel marks off the dive time. The black dial sits beneath sapphire crystal, and LumiBrite on the hands and indices keeps it readable underwater. It is driven by the V157 solar calibre: it charges from any light, runs for around ten months on a full charge and needs no battery change. A screw case back, a screw-down crown and 20 bar water resistance secure it for use in the water, and the steel bracelet carries a secure folding clasp with an extension.
