The Seiko Presage Craftsmanship Series presents this model with an Urushi lacquer dial and offers a GMT function for the first time, showing two time zones at once. The watch brings together traditional Japanese craft and current technology, and its glossy dial draws the eye back again and again through its depth. Urushi lacquer, prized in Japan for centuries, is applied by hand and gives the surface an unusually smooth and brilliant finish. Under the direction of the lacquer artist Isshu Tamura the dial is built up from many layers and then polished, which makes every piece singular.
The stainless steel case with super hard coating stands up to daily wear and keeps its refined look. The three dimensional white bar indices, together with the gold GMT hand, improve legibility and lend the watch additional poise. The strap is made of calfskin from a certified tannery.
