The Seiko Astron SSH175J1 sets itself by GPS. At the press of a button it searches for the satellites, recognises the time zone and takes over time and date; without reception it keeps to ±15 seconds per month. Alongside local time it shows a second time zone and world time for 38 cities, together with a perpetual calendar. The chronograph measures up to twelve hours in steps of 1/20 second. Case and bracelet are made of titanium with a particularly hard coating, and the case measures 44.1 mm across and 13.4 mm high. The blue dial sits beneath a double domed sapphire crystal with super clear coating, with LumiBrite on the hands and indices. The 5X83 solar calibre charges from light and runs for around six months on a full charge, so there is no battery to change. The smart adjuster lets the bracelet length be fine tuned without tools. It is water resistant to 10 bar.
