How does it differ from the 26A215?

Only in colour. The 26A214 carries red forged carbon on a brown suede strap, the 26A215 blue forged carbon on a blue one. Technology and price are the same.

How does the electrostatic movement work?

Two turbines in the dial spin between two electrodes as the arm moves and generate current. It is stored and drives two motors. The watch needs no battery, it charges itself as you wear it.

Why does the seconds hand sometimes stop at 12?

That is the power saving function. After five minutes without motion the seconds hand parks at 12 while hours and minutes keep running. Swing your arm up and down for three to five seconds and the hand catches up with the time.

What is forged carbon?

Carbon fibres are pressed into a block under heat and pressure and then cut open. That creates a grain which comes out differently on every dial, so two watches never look quite the same.

The dial is made of red forged carbon and shows a grain like a cut stone. Through the apertures in it you see the two spinning turbines with their silver tone bridges and blue screws. Hands and indices are filled with LumiNova.

It is driven by the electrostatic NS30 calibre. Two turbines spin between two electrodes and turn arm movement into current, which is held in an accumulator. From it two motors run: an electrostatic one for the gliding seconds hand and a step motor for hours and minutes. Deviation is five seconds per month.
